Project Manager, Roadway
Responsibilities
This leadership role carries a variety of responsibilities. The role will be primarily responsible for managing the complete scope of multiple projects, including client care, stakeholder coordination, plan production management, technical design management, and other roles as necessary to ensure the success of the role’s project workload. You will perform some technical and CAD work as part of your duties, but your principal work tasks will be directing and managing work to ensure the work meets the required standards for quality and meets internal budgets and internal and external schedules. You will also be engaged in business development by performing client relations visits, assisting with the authorship of Letters of Interest, Statements of Qualifications, and Scope and Fee Proposals. Project scopes may include:
- Study/evaluation of roadway operations and geometrics.
- Geometric roadway design.
- Structural design calculations and review.
- Structural steel detailing and calculations.
- Stormwater management design.
- Limited site grading design.
- Plan notes and details.
- Utility coordination.
- Ensuring site design compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-Accredited Institution.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ohio or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months.
- 6+ years (required)/10+ years (preferred) of experience in engineering design.
- 2+ years of project management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience using CAD software is required. Experience with 3D modeling suites, specifically OpenRoads, is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to direct work and provide mentorship to others.
Senior Engineer, Roadway
Responsibilities
Work as a senior member of a design team under the Project Manager to design and produce roadway and related plans for state, county, and local government clients. As a Senior Engineer, you will engage as a mentor to less experienced staff, and will have the opportunity to take on certain Management tasks and advance your career to Project Manager if so desired. You will perform and direct the performance of plan development in CAD as well as required engineering calculations. You will be involved in projects from the conceptual phase, through the initial planning submittals, and final design, and provide post-design consultation as needed. Responsibilities may include:
- Study/evaluation of roadway operations and geometrics.
- Geometric roadway design.
- Structural design calculations and review.
- Structural steel detailing and calculations.
- Stormwater management design.
- Limited site grading design.
- Plan notes and details.
- Utility coordination.
- Ensuring site design compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications

- 4+ years of experience in roadway design preferred.
- Experience using CAD software is strongly preferred. Experience with 3D site/utility modeling suites, specifically OpenRoads, is preferred.
- Stormwater modeling experience is strongly preferred; experience with HydroCAD is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to direct work and provide mentorship to others.
CAD Technician
Responsibilities
In this position, you will perform plan production tasks using CAD at the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager. You will be involved in projects from the conceptual phase, through the initial planning submittals, and final design. You can expect to work on a wide variety of project types, including private site development, public utility, public roadway, and structural plans. Responsibilities include:
- Importing topographic surveys and creating 3D surface models.
- Exhibit creation and edits.
- Prepare initial drafts of proposed improvements with input from the supervisor.
- Plan Production including sheet set-up.
- Performing plan mark-up corrections.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a civil engineering-related field.
- 4+ years of experience in site design and drafting is strongly preferred.
- CAD software experience is required; experience with Microstation/Geopak is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and seek guidance when needed.
